Rev. Dr. Ken Dempsey has been with us since January 2006 as an interim minister. On 1st May 2008 he became Placement Minister at St. Stephens. Ken's ministry focuses on preaching, teaching and pastoral work. Ken and his wife Rae are warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated by St. Stephens Church Family. Formerly a Reader and Associate Professor of Sociology, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, La Trobe University, he is presently an Emeritus Scholar in the same school. Ken is the author of many publications on religious practice and social life in Australian society including the books, Conflict and Decline: Ministers and laymen in an Australian country town and Smalltown: A Study of Social Inequality, Cohesion and Belonging. |
