St. Stephens Uniting Church

Williamstown

 

 History

Established in 1886 as North Williamstown Presbyterian Church. The original church building is now the church hall and was relocated when a new church was built in 1956. The congregation became the St. Stephens Uniting Church in 1977

OUR MISSION

 Led by the Holy Spirit, our mission is to empower people to love one another, and be a visible Christian presence within the community

 

St. Stephens Church Family

Ministry

 Lay people and the Minister have a mutually supporting role. Sunday worship and pastoral care are seen as high priority areas.

 

Community

 

St. Stephens is a Christian Community within a community.

The meeting-rooms, hall and tennis courts provide a resource for  many activities.

Over 300 people use these facilities each week.

 

 

 

 

Education

"Conversations with Ken" happen over lunch on Thursday at 12 noon. These discussions with the Minister focus mainly on the lectionary readings for the following Sunday.

  • Lois Dwyer's Kindergarten Vanuatu

  • North Williamstown Primary School

 

St. Stephens Uniting Church Tennis Club:

The Club is committed to promoting tennis for physical development and exercise, social interaction and fun for families and individuals at an affordable cost.

Synthetic grass courts have replaced en tout cas and all weather play is possible.

 

 

 

 

 

St. Stephens Church Council

 

Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and has responsibility for the pastoral care of the congregation, and leading the congregation to a fuller participation in Christ's mission to the world

Uniting Church Op Shop

Stevedore Street Williamstown

The shop is staffed by volunteers and is open Monday - Saturday.

Proceeds from sales are used to support local and overseas mission.
